PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a walking type work machine that can readily check a remaining amount of fuel in a fuel tank from a side of a control handle.SOLUTION: The walking type work machine includes: the control handle 17 supported to a machine body 10 and extending along in a machine body longitudinal direction; and the fuel tank 13 mounted and supported to the machine body 10; a tank cover 14 covering the fuel tank 13; and a translucent projection part 26 provided at a lateral side face of the fuel tank 13 and projecting outward on a machine body lateral side relative to a lateral side face of a tank cover 14.
