PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle skeleton member which is composed of a composite material of a thermoplastic resin and a carbon fiber, by which a vehicle structure can possess sufficient rigidity by constituting a vehicle skeleton by using the member, and which is achieved in the large weight reduction of a vehicle body.SOLUTION: A vehicle skeleton member 1 is composed of a composite material of a thermoplastic resin and a carbon fiber. In the vehicle skeleton member including a random material carbon fiber composite material, a form of the carbon fiber of the composite material is formed by tow-dimensionally and randomly arranging discontinuous fibers, the composite material includes long fibers whose fiber lengths are 10 to 100 mm, tension elasticity moduli of a plate-shaped sample in two directions which intersect with each other in a plane are measured, and a ratio which is obtained by dividing larger one of the obtained tension elasticity moduli by a smaller one becomes not larger than two.
【課題】熱可塑性樹脂と炭素繊維との複合材料からなる車両骨格部材であって、これを用いて車両骨格を構成することにより、車両構造が十分な強度を有するものとなり、かつ、車体の大幅な軽量化が達成される車両骨格部材を提供する。【解決手段】熱可塑性樹脂と炭素繊維との複合材料からなる車両骨格部材1であって、複合材料が、炭素繊維の形態が不連続繊維を二次元ランダムに配置したものであり、炭素繊維として繊維長10〜100mmの長繊維を含み、かつ板状試料の平面内において互いに直行する二方向の引張弾性率を測定し、得られた引張弾性率の値のうち大きいものを小さいもので割って求めた比が2以下となるランダム材炭素繊維複合材料を含む車両骨格部材。【選択図】図1
