PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rod protector for protecting the rod of a fluid pressure cylinder from dust.SOLUTION: A rod protector for protecting a fluid pressure cylinder 10 comprises: a cylinder body 20 forming fluid pressure chambers 12 and 13; and a rod 15 protruding from the two ends of the cylinder body 20, wherein the rod 15 is moved by a working fluid pressure introduced into the fluid pressure cylinders 12 and 13. The rod protector further comprises: a first dust boot 30 protruding from one end of the cylinder body 20 for forming a first rod chamber 49 around the rod 15 protruding from one end of the cylinder body 20; a second dust boot 50 for forming a second rod chamber 69 around the rod 15 protruding from the other end of the cylinder body 20; and a communication passage 70 for causing the first rod chamber 49 and the second rod chamber 69 to communicate with each other.
