PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spindle shaft which allows a wheel bearing device for a drive wheel to be used as a driven shaft without taking measures for conventional delay fracture.SOLUTION: A spindle shaft 61 which is attached to a hub wheel by using the drive-wheel side hub wheel 72 in which a female spline is formed at an inside diameter face comprises: a screw part 64 at a tip part; a shaft main body 62 having a male spline 65 which is formed at a base end side of the screw part via a stepped part, and toothed with the female spline 80 of the hub wheel; and a back face 67 which is continuously arranged at the shaft main body via a shaft-rooted R-part of the shaft main body. The back face is externally fit to a cylindrical shaft part of the hub wheel, and pre-compresses an inner ring by the screwing of a nut member to the screw part. An axial length of the male spline is set longer than an axial length of the female spline, the male spline and a bearing pressing part of the back face are made to be thermosetting treatment parts, and the shaft-rooted R-part is made to be a non-heat treatment part.
【課題】従来のような遅れ破壊の対策を施すことなく、駆動軸用の車輪用軸受装置を従動軸用に用いることが可能なスピンドル軸を提供する。【解決手段】内径面に雌スプラインが形成された駆動軸側ハブ輪72を従動軸側に用い、このハブ輪の装着されるスピンドル軸61で、先端部のねじ部64と、このねじ部の基端側に段付き部を介して形成されて前記ハブ輪の雌スプライン80に歯合する雄スプライン65とを有する軸本体62と、軸本体の軸付け根アール部を介して軸本体に連設されバックフェース67とを備え、バックフェースは、ねじ部へのナット部材の螺合によって、ハブ輪の筒状軸部に外嵌され内輪を予圧する。雄スプラインの軸方向長さを、雌スプラインの軸方向長さよりも短く設定し、雄スプラインおよびバックフェースのベアリング押圧部を熱硬化処理部とするとともに、軸付け根アール部を非熱処理部とする。【選択図】図1
