PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving handrail tension adjustment apparatus for a passenger conveyor capable of improving operational efficiency in tension adjustment of a moving handrail.SOLUTION: A moving handrail tension adjustment apparatus for a passenger conveyor, includes: a stationary plate 81 that is disposed on a footboard 41 of a foot step 4 located on a forward path side and is engaged with a groove 411 formed on the footboard 41; a rotation shaft 82 that is disposed on the stationary plate 81 and extends along the groove 411 of the footboard 41; a rotation member 83 that is disposed to extend upward from the rotation shaft 82 and rotates around the rotation shaft 82; a rail pressing part 84 to be pressed from above against a portion of a return path side of a handrail guide rail 61; and a support part 85 that is disposed on the rotation member 83 and supports the rail pressing part 84. A pressing force of the rail pressing part 84 against the handrail guide rail 61 is changed by rotation of the rotation member 83.
