PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aircraft that makes a ballistic flight in the stratosphere and reaches a long distance destination at high speed and at low cost.SOLUTION: There is provided a ballistic aircraft without a main wing, the aircraft having a rocket engine 3 that combusts ambient air and liquid fuel. The rocket engine 3 for combusting petroleum-based fuel with air is used. A movable partition wall 43 is laid in a fuel/air pressure accumulation tank 40, and an area of a fuel part 402 and an air part 401 is created. Ambient air is sucked in a space (the air part 401) generated as the fuel is consumed. When the sucked ambient air becomes insufficient, the aircraft descends to the height where air is dense and sucks ambient air. It then ascends again to a high altitude where air is thin, but resistance is low, and makes a high speed flight. The ascent and descent are repeated.
