PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress occurrence of extraction leakage of the feature amount of a moving object.SOLUTION: A monitoring device 100 detects an object person P becoming an extraction target candidate from an image captured by any camera C out of a plurality of cameras C, and identifies the position of the object person P. The monitoring device 100 calculated the moving direction L and moving speed V of the object person P, based on the time series variation of the position of an identified object person. The monitoring device 100 calculates the extractable period T of the object person P, with reference to a storage section 110, and based on the moving direction L and moving speed V of the object person P thus calculated. The monitoring device 100 determines the object person P of relatively small extractable period T thus calculated, out of the detected object persons P, preferentially as the extraction object of feature amount.

    【課題】移動対象物の特徴量の抽出漏れの発生を抑制すること。【解決手段】監視装置100は、複数のカメラCの少なくともいずれかのカメラCにより撮影された画像から特徴量の抽出対象候補となる対象人物Pを検出して、対象人物Pの位置を特定する。監視装置100は、特定した対象人物Pの位置の時系列変化に基づいて、対象人物の移動方向Lおよび移動速度Vを算出する。監視装置100は、記憶部110を参照して、算出した対象人物Pの移動方向Lおよび移動速度Vに基づいて、対象人物Pの抽出可能期間Tを算出する。監視装置100は、検出した対象人物Pのうち、算出した抽出可能期間Tが相対的に少ない対象人物Pを優先して特徴量の抽出対象に決定する。【選択図】図1
