PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure that the content of operator provision information that can be easily grasped from a change in the density of an image portion within the prescribed range of a displayed image is intuitively recognized by an operator.SOLUTION: Provided is an image display device equipped with image light projection means for having an image indicating the content of operator provision information that is provided to the operator of a mobile entity displayed on top of a scene lying ahead in the mobile entity traveling direction that the operator visually recognizes via a light transmission member, and projecting image light to the light transmission member so that the operator is able to visually recognize the scene through a non-image portion inside the image, wherein the image display device has control means for executing, on the basis of specific operator provision information, image density change control for changing the density of an image portion 501 located within the prescribed range of the image that is displayed by the image light projected by the image light projection means.

    【課題】表示画像の所定範囲内における画像部の密度変化から直接的に感じ取りやすい運転者提供情報について、その内容を直感的に運転者に認識させることを課題とする。【解決手段】移動体の運転者に提供する運転者提供情報の内容を示す画像を、光透過部材を介して該運転者が視認する移動体進行方向前方の風景に重ねて表示させ、かつ、該画像内における非画像部を通じて該運転者が該風景を視認可能なように、該光透過部材へ画像光を投射する画像光投射手段を備えた画像表示装置において、特定の運転者提供情報に基づき、前記画像光投射手段が投射する画像光によって表示される画像の所定範囲内に位置する画像部501の密度を変える画像密度変更制御を実行する制御手段を有する。【選択図】図1
