PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical sensor that has increase in physical constitution suppressed.SOLUTION: An optical sensor having: a light reception element that receives light upon a light reception surface to convert the light into an electric signal; and a protection part 50 that covers a periphery of the light reception surface to thereby protect the light reception element is installed in a dash board of a vehicle. The protection part is formed of a first resin material with a refractive index of light higher than air, and a second resin material with a refractive index of the light higher than the first resin material. An interface 53 between the first resin material and the second resin material is configured to reflect light incident upon the interface via the second resin material to guide the light to the light reception surface, and in order to cause the light reception element to receive light above a front part of the vehicle, the interface is inclined so that an angle formed with a parallel direction parallel to a road surface where the vehicle travels and a perpendicular line orthogonal to the interface is an angle at which a total reflection starts to begin in the interface or larger.

    【課題】体格の増大の抑制された光センサを提供する。【解決手段】受光面にて光を受光して電気信号に変換する受光素子と、受光面の周囲を覆うことで、受光素子を保護する保護部50と、を有し、車両のダッシュボードに設置される光センサ。保護部は、空気よりも光の屈折率が高い第1樹脂材料と、第1樹脂材料よりも光の屈折率が高い第2樹脂材料と、から成り、第1樹脂材料と第2樹脂材料との界面53が第2樹脂材料を介して界面に入射した光を反射して、受光素子の受光面へと導いており、界面は、車両の前方上方の光を受光素子にて受光させるべく、車両の走行する路面に対して平行な平行方向と界面に直交する垂線との成す角度が、界面にて全反射が起き始める角度以上となるように傾斜している。【選択図】図5
