PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tower yarder which can perform a material collection work even in a narrow material collection site with minimum required manpower and equipment, further, which does not need wire attaching/detaching works, and a material collection method of the tower yarder.SOLUTION: In a tower yarder 100, a tower yarder body 20 includes a vehicle body part 20a having traveling means and a rotation part 20b installed rotatably to the vehicle body part 20a. The rotation part 20b has a tower 25 and includes a carrier storage tray 40 capable of storing a carrier 21 in a position lower of the tower 25 in which the carrier 21 can be suspended directly to a wire. The carrier storage tray 40 can store the carrier 21 while the wire is kept attached to the carrier 21.
