PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid electric vehicle control unit capable of ensuring stable traveling even on a climbing lane.SOLUTION: A hybrid electric vehicle control unit comprises: control means controlling power output from an engine and a motor, engagement and disengagement of a clutch, and a transmission gear ratio of a continuously variable transmission, according to an operational state; and road surface gradient detection means detecting a road surface gradient of a road on which a vehicle travels, and engages the clutch if it is determined that the road surface gradient is equal to or greater than a predetermined value when the clutch is disengaged, the engine is stopped, and the vehicle is stopped in an electric vehicle mode in which the vehicle can travel by a driving force of the motor.

    【課題】登坂路でも安定して走行することが可能なハイブリッド車両の制御装置を提供すること。【解決手段】ハイブリッド車両の制御装置は、運転状態に応じてエンジン及びモータの出力と、クラッチの締結及び解放と、無段変速機の変速比とを制御する制御手段と、車両の走行路の路面勾配を検出する路面勾配検出手段と、を備え、クラッチを解放し、エンジンを停止して、モータの駆動力により走行可能な電気自動車モードで車両停止したときに、路面勾配が所定値以上と判定されたときは、クラッチを締結することとした。【選択図】図4
