PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hybrid working machine which improves fuel economy by reducing the size of an engine by employing a simple hybrid system, improves a gas exhaust characteristic, reduces noise, and can perform quick charge of a battery while suppressing the lowering of an output of a hydraulic pump when a charge amount of the battery is extremely insufficient.SOLUTION: A vehicle body controller 46 makes an engine forcibly generate excessive torque by performing engine rotation number lowering control for lowering a target rotation number of an engine 11 when a charge rate of a battery 33 is lowered to a first charge rate or lower, and reduction torque control for reducing the maximum absorption torque of a hydraulic pump 21, makes a power generation electric motor 31 operate as a generator by using the excessive torque, and thereby performs the quick charge of the battery.

    【課題】簡易なハイブリッド方式を採用してエンジンを小型化することにより燃費の向上、排ガス特性の改善及び騒音の低減を図るとともに、バッテリの充電量が極めて不十分な場合に油圧ポンプの出力低下を抑えつつバッテリの急速充電を行うことが可能なハイブリッド式作業機械を提供する。【解決手段】車体コントローラ46は、バッテリ33の充電率が第1充電率以下に低下した場合に、エンジン11の目標回転数を低下させるエンジン回転数低下制御と油圧ポンプ21の最大吸収トルクを低下させる減トルク制御とを行うことにより前記エンジンに強制的に余剰トルクを発生させ、この余剰トルクを用いて発電・電動機31を発電機として作動させて前記バッテリの急速充電を行う。【選択図】図2
