PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain assist performance equivalent to that in the case where the left and right pedal stepping-on forces are detected, while simplifying a detection structure of the pedal stepping-on force by directly detecting torque applied to a crankshaft.SOLUTION: A power-assisted bicycle 1 comprises: a crankshaft 10; a torque sensor 31 that detects torque added to the crankshaft 10; a rotation sensor 32 that detects rotations of the crankshaft 10; an auxiliary power driving part 20 that adds auxiliary power to a power transmission system from the crankshaft 10 to wheels or to wheels during the rotation of the crankshaft 10; and a control part 30 that controls the auxiliary power output from the auxiliary power driving part 20 in accordance with torque detected by the torque sensor 31 and output from the rotation sensor 32. The control part 30 determines the auxiliary power according to the detected torque in a first half of one rotation of the crankshaft, and determines the auxiliary power according to the detected torque detected in the first half of the one rotation of the crank shaft, in a second half of the one rotation of the crankshaft 1.

    【課題】クランク軸に加わるトルクを直接検出することで、ペダル踏力の検出構造を簡略化しながら、左右のペダル踏力を検出した場合と同等のアシスト性能を得る。【解決手段】電動アシスト自転車1は、クランク軸10と、クランク軸10に加わるトルクを検出するトルクセンサ31と、クランク軸10の回転を検出する回転センサ32と、クランク軸10の回転時にクランク軸10から車輪への動力伝達系又は車輪に補助動力を付加する補助動力駆動部20と、トルクセンサ31の検出トルクと回転センサ32の出力によって補助動力駆動部20が出力する補助動力を制御する制御部30とを備え、制御部30は、クランク軸1回転における前半で検出トルクによって補助動力を決定し、当該1回転の後半ではその前半で検出された検出トルクによって補助動力を決定する。【選択図】図4
