PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicular communication apparatus which sets communication restricted and permitted areas using positional information and is capable of appropriately and surely controlling the communication restricted and permitted areas.SOLUTION: The vehicular communication apparatus includes: communication means 59 which is installed in a present vehicle and acquires information for supporting driving of the present vehicle by exchanging radio waves with another vehicle 55, a road-side unit 51 or a pedestrian side; control area setting means 65 for setting a control area to restrict or inhibit usage of a specific frequency band with the risk for a radio wave from a transmitting device 57 of the communication means 59 to be interfered with a radio wave transmitted from another communication system installed at a road side, in accordance with positional information; a GPS receiving part 61 for identifying a position and a traveling direction of the present vehicle; approach determination means 67 for determining whether to approach the control area in accordance with the position and the traveling direction of the present vehicle; and transmission control means 69 for restricting or stopping the transmission of the radio wave from the transmission device 57 of the communication means 59 if it is determined to approach the control area.
