PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an elevator door control mechanism and an elevator door control method that prevent door closing time from becoming long even when air flow is strong at the time of door closing.SOLUTION: An elevator door control mechanism 20 includes a wind velocity sensor 22 for measuring velocity of air flowing into a hoistway from an elevator landing, and a door control part 26 for receiving a signal from the wind velocity sensor 22, and controlling the drive force of a door motor 24 that imparts opening and closing force to a landing door. The door control part 26 controls the drive force of the door motor 24 so as to stepwisely or continuously increase the door closing force of the landing door according to the wind velocity detected by the wind velocity sensor 22.
