PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel partially hydrogenated phenolic resin, a rubber composition comprising the resin and exhibiting excellent grip performance and abrasion resistance, and a pneumatic tire comprising the rubber composition.SOLUTION: A partially hydrogenated phenolic resin is prepared by selectively hydrogenating double bonds other than those on aromatic rings of a phenolic resin and has a hydrogenation ratio of the double bonds of from 30 to 100% and a hydroxyl value of from 30 to 500 mgKOH/g.

    【課題】新規な部分水添フェノール系樹脂、該樹脂を含んでなるグリップ性および耐摩耗性に優れたゴム組成物、および、該ゴム組成物から構成されてなる空気入りタイヤを提供すること。【解決手段】フェノール系樹脂の芳香環以外の二重結合を、選択的に水素添加して得られる部分水添フェノール系樹脂であって、該二重結合の水素添加率が30〜100%であり、水酸基価が30〜500mgKOH/gである部分水添フェノール系樹脂。【選択図】なし
