PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light irradiation device that attains high assemblability, and suppresses external air from entering inside an optical housing via a gap between an inner wall face of a light source attachment-purposed through-hole provided in an outer wall section of the optical housing and an outer peripheral face of the light source attached by being inserted into the through-hole.SOLUTION: A light irradiation device includes: a housing 101; a light source 201R that is attached to the housing; and an optical member that is arranged inside the housing, and the light irradiation device irradiates light emitted from the light source via the optical member. The light irradiation device has a light source holder that holds the light source, and when the light source held by the light source holder is attached by being externally inserted into a through-hole formed in an outer wall section of the housing, the light source holder includes an abutment face 102b that abuts on an outer wall face of the housing so as to surround a periphery of the through-hole, and the abutment face abuts on the outer wall face of the housing to thereby shield the through-hole from external air.
