PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rear axle frame which is compact in a fore and aft direction of a vehicle body.SOLUTION: A rear axle frame 1 includes: an upper plate part 10 extending in a crosswise direction 5b of a vehicle body; a swing shaft 13 which is provided at a center part of the upper plate part 10 when viewed in a length direction, horizontally extends in a fore and aft direction 5a of the vehicle body, and is pivotally supported by the vehicle body so that the rear axle frame 1 may swing; a lower plate part 11 extending in the crosswise direction 5b of the vehicle body; an intermediate wall part 12 which connects the upper plate part 10 with the lower plate part 11, vertically extends in a vertical direction 5c of the vehicle body, and supports a rear axle 30, a rack-and-pinion mechanism, a steering motor 32, and a transmission gear; and a pair of upper protective walls 160 which are provided at the intermediate wall part 12 and extend in the vertical direction 5c of the vehicle body while being spaced a predetermined distance away from each other in the crosswise direction 5b of the vehicle body so that the steering motor 32 supported by the intermediate wall part 12 is disposed therebetween.
