PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for improving safety of a ship during navigation which travels by thrust obtained by wind blowing in atmosphere, using a sail like a yacht (in the following, the ship is called as a sailing ship, simply).SOLUTION: A float H capable of trailing at a lee side is added to a tip of a mast C. The float H attached to the mast tip is defined to be an air bag which is not inflated normally and which is inflated during splashdown. Air pressure can be reduced compared with a float of a conventional sphere having sufficient float force and overturn moment can be significantly reduced because the float H has no air inside in a normal time, for improving safety of a sailing ship.

    【課題】ヨットなどのように帆を利用して大気中を吹く風の力で推力を得て進む船舶(以下、単に「帆船」という)の航行時の安全性を向上させる技術を提供する。【解決手段】マストC先端に、風下にたなびくことができる浮きHを付加する。さらに、マスト先端に取り付けた浮きHを、通常はしぼんでいて、着水すると膨らむエアーバッグとする。通常内部に気体が入っておらず十分な浮力を有する従来の球体の浮きより空気抵抗を減じて転倒モーメントを大幅に削減することができ、帆船の安全性が向上する。【選択図】図2
