PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collision energy absorption device of a vehicle which suppresses extension of the whole length of the vehicle and, upon collision with another vehicle, can exhibit energy absorption performance effectively.SOLUTION: A collision energy absorption device 10 of a vehicle includes an FUP bar 11, an energy absorption body 12, right and left parallel link mechanisms 13, right and left motors 14, an ECU 17 and the like. The energy absorption body 12 is tiltable between a storage position which is freely rotatably connected with the FUP bar 11 via the parallel link mechanism 13, is mounted on an upper surface 33 of the FUP bar 11 and is not protruded to the front side rather than a front surface 23 and a usage position which is arranged on the front side of the FUP bar 11 and allows a rear surface 24 of the energy absorption body 12 to be brought into contact with the front surface 23 of the FUP bar 11. A control part 37 of the ECU 17 sets the motor 14 in non-actuated state into actuated state when a collision judgement part 36 judges that the vehicle is in pre-collision occurrence state. When the motor 14 is set in the actuation state, the energy absorption body 12 is tilted from the storage position to the usage position.

    【課題】車両の全長の延長を抑え、且つ他の車両との衝突時にエネルギ吸収性能を効果的に発揮させる。【解決手段】車両の衝突エネルギ吸収装置10は、FUPバー11、エネルギ吸収体12、左右の平行リンク機構13、左右のモータ14、及びECU17等を備える。エネルギ吸収体12は、平行リンク機構13を介してFUPバー11に回転自在に連結され、FUPバー11の上面33に載置されてFUPバー11の前面23よりも前方へ突出しない収納位置と、FUPバー11の前方に配置されてエネルギ吸収体12の後面24がFUPバー11の前面23に接触する使用位置との間を傾動可能である。ECU17の制御部37は、衝突判定部36が衝突発生前状態であると判定したとき、非作動状態のモータ14を作動状態に設定する。モータ14が作動状態に設定されると、エネルギ吸収体12が収納位置から使用位置へ傾動する。【選択図】図2
