PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an occupant determination device increasing cases where occupant determination secured with accuracy can be performed.SOLUTION: An occupant determination device includes: weight sensors 10 and 20 for detecting weight on a seat in a vehicle; a lateral acceleration sensor 30 for detecting lateral acceleration which is acceleration of a vehicle width direction of the vehicle and has positive and negative codes on the basis of the vehicle width direction; a processing unit 40; and a storage unit 50 storing a table which is configured on the basis of a lateral acceleration threshold having the positive and negative codes showing whether the occupant determination on the seat is performed, the weight and the lateral acceleration and is set with an occupant area for performing the occupant determination on the seat. The processing unit 40 performs the occupant determination on the basis of the weight, the lateral acceleration and the table when the lateral acceleration is higher than the lateral acceleration threshold.

    【課題】正確度が確保された乗員判定をできる場合が多くなる、乗員判定装置を提供する。【解決手段】乗員判定装置は、車両のシート上の重量を検出する重量センサ10、20と、車両の車幅方向の加速度であり、車幅方向に基づく正負の符号を有する横加速度を検出する横加速度センサ30と、処理ユニット40と、シート上の乗員判定を行うか否かを示す正負の符号を有する横加速度閾値と、重量と横加速度とに基づいて構成され、シート上の乗員判定を行うための乗員領域が設定されているテーブルと、を格納する記憶ユニット50と、を備える。処理ユニットは、横加速度が横加速度閾値より高い場合、重量と横加速度とテーブルとに基づいて、乗員判定を行う。【選択図】図1
