PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for determining a driver's carelessness and a determination device therefor.SOLUTION: The method for determining a driver's carelessness according to the present invention includes: a step in which an object body with an impedance component is sensed by an electrostatic sensor provided to a headrest of a vehicle seat; a step in which a change in electrostatic capacity is sensed by the electrostatic sensor; a step in which a distance value between the object body with an impedance component and one or more of the electrostatic sensors is measured using the change in electrostatic capacity sensed by the electrostatic sensor; and a step in which it is determined whether or not the object body with an impedance component is in a state of carelessness using the distance value.
