PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pedestrian collision sensing system whose sensitivity has been upgraded.SOLUTION: In the present invention, a chamber 16 acting as a sensor is protected with a protection member 20. The protection member 20 includes a first plate-like part 20A that protects the face of the chamber 16, a second plate-like part 20B that protects the back of the chamber 16, a third plate-like part 20C that protects the top of the chamber 16, and a fourth plate-like part 20D that protects the bottom of the chamber 16, and is shaped like a bag as a whole. Accordingly, since the face and back of the chamber 16 are protected with the first plate-like part 20A and second plate-like part 20B respectively, uniform compression and deformation of the chamber 16 is realized in case of a collision.

    【課題】感度を向上させた歩行者衝突検知装置を提供する。【解決手段】本発明では、センサ部として機能するチャンバ16を保護部材20で保護している。この保護部材20は、チャンバ16の前面を保護する第1板状部20Aと、チャンバ16の後面を保護する第2板状部20Bと、チャンバ16の上面を保護する第3板状部20Cと、チャンバ16の下面を保護する第4板状部20Dとから成り、全体として袋状を呈している。これにより、チャンバ16の前面および後面が第1板状部20Aおよび第2板状部20Bにより保護されるので、衝突時におけるチャンバ16の均一な圧縮変形が実現される。【選択図】図2
