PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve collision/crash position discrimination performance at a time of discriminating a collision/crash position using a plurality of acceleration detectors.SOLUTION: If a collision/crash object such as a pedestrian collides/crashes against a vehicle bumper, then a bumper cover 32 starts greatly deforming at a direct hit position, an absorber 38 presses a pressure member 34, a pressure of a pressure chamber 40 changes, and pressure sensors 14A and 14B, therefore, detect the pressure. Furthermore, if a lower limit determination unit determines that the pressure exceeds a pressure threshold, a collision/crash position discrimination unit discriminates an arrangement position of an acceleration sensor corresponding to a maximum displacement of displacements detected by respective acceleration sensors 16A, 16B, and 16C as a collision/crash position.

    【課題】複数の加速度検出部を用いて衝突位置を判別する際の衝突位置の判別性能を向上させることを目的とする。【解決手段】歩行者等の衝突対象が車両用バンパに衝突すると、バンパカバー32が直撃位置で大きく変形を始め、アブソーバ38が圧力部材34を押圧し、圧力チャンバ40の圧力が変化するので、各圧力センサ14A、14Bによって圧力を検出する。そして、下限値判定部が圧力閾値を超えたことを判定すると、衝突位置判別部が、この時間(衝突発生時点から圧力閾値を超えた時点)までの各加速度センサ16A、16B、16Cから求めた各々の変位のうち最大値に対応する加速度センサの配置位置を衝突位置と判別する。【選択図】図4
