PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recognizing apparatus that can continue human face recognition, even when the vehicle equipped therewith runs over a level gap or a rugged road, without allowing a rider's face to move away from a tracking area.SOLUTION: At S120, the extents of shifting of gravity center positions are calculated. At S160, the extents of shifting are calculated on the basis of two gravity center positions figured out in the immediate past. At S130, the gravity center positions in the next frame are forecast from the calculated extents of shifting, and at S140, the forecast gravity center positions are corrected on the basis of the extents of shifting figured out with a seat position detecting sensor. At S150, a tracking area is so set as to contain a high brightness area centering on the corrected gravity center positions.

    【課題】走行中に段差や悪路を走行した場合であっても乗員の顔がトラッキング領域から外れることなく、顔認識し続けられる画像認識装置を提供する。【解決手段】S120にて重心位置の移動量を算出する。S160にて直近に求められた2つの重心位置に基づき、移動量を算出する。S130では、求められた移動量から、次フレームでの重心位置の予測を行い、S140では、予測された重心位置をシート位置検出センサにて求められた移動量に基づき補正する。S150では、補正された重心位置を中心にして高輝度領域が含まれるようトラッキング領域を設定する。【選択図】図3
