PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent or suppress degradation of discernment of a driver occurring immediately after a luminous intensity in a vehicle width direction is varied depending on a vehicle speed.SOLUTION: Each of headlamps 2R and 2L that illuminate a space in front of a vehicle 1 includes three or more light sources which are different from one another in an irradiation range in a lateral direction. The plural light sources are classified into first area light sources R1 and R2 (L3 and L4), a second area light source R3 (L2), and a third area light source R4 (L1) by differentiating the irradiation ranges of the light sources in the lateral direction. A controller U independently controls the luminous intensities of the area light sources according to a vehicle speed. The controller U implements luminous intensity control that falls into light reduction control under which light is reduced but is not put off, light increase control under which light is increased, and intermediate control under which luminous intensity control is implemented so that a change in a luminous intensity is smaller than those under light reduction control and light increase control.
【課題】車速に応じて車幅方向において光度を変更する場合に、光度変更直後における運転者の視認性悪化を防止あるいは抑制できるようにする。【解決手段】車両1の前方を照射するための前照灯2R、2Lが、左右方向に照射範囲が相違される3以上の複数の光源を有する。コントローラUにより、複数の光源を左右方向に照射範囲を相違させた第1領域用光源R1、R2(L3、L4)と、第2領域用光源(R3(L2)と、第3領域用光源(R4(L1)とに分けて、車速に応じて各領域用光源の光度が個々独立して制御される。コントローラUは、3つの領域用光源について、消灯させることなく減光を行う減光制御と増光を行う増光制御と該減光および増光よりも光度変化が少ない光度制御となる中間制御とに仕分けした光度制御を行う。【選択図】 図3
