PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module capable of preventing moisture to infiltrate inside due to a change in environmental temperature, making dew condensation inside the optical module hardly to occur, and achieving high reliability.SOLUTION: A drying layer 107 is provided at a boundary surface between an optical module cover 102 or a plane packing 103, and a base 104. Since moisture may be absorbed by the drying layer, moisture hardly infiltrates into the inside of a module from the boundary surface.
