A structural assembly (1 figure 1) for an aircraft comprises: a frame structure 2 comprising a plurality of structural members 14 each having a longitudinal axis 7h; at least one skin 4 arranged on the frame structure 1 and at least one connecting element 6h which comprises a first portion 12 to conformably interface with the skin 4 and a second portion 13 to rotationally receive a structural member 14 such that the connecting element 6h is rotationally movable relative to the structural member 14 about the longitudinal axis 7h. A method of manufacturing a structural component for an aircraft comprises providing the structural assembly (1 figure 1), rotationally adjusting the connecting element 6h relative to the structural member 14, attaching the connecting element 6h to the structural member 14 and attaching the skin 4 on the first portion 12 of the connecting element 6h. The connecting element 6h may be attached to the structural member 14 and the skin 4 by an adhesive bond or mechanical fastening means.
