A charging socket assembly for a vehicle is provided. The assembly includes a panel 106 with a charging socket for a traction battery of the vehicle, a flap 130 for covering the charging socket, and a seal 170 for sealing flap 130 to panel 106, enclosing the charging socket when the flap is closed. Seal 170 extends from a first portion (171, Figure 6) to a second portion (172, Figure 6). When flap 130 is closed, the first portion of seal 170 engages flap 130, defining a first space (173, Figure 6) between the first portion of seal 170 and panel 106; and the second portion of seal 170 engages panel 106, defining a second space (174, Figure 6) between the second portion of seal 170 and flap 130. Seal 170 is flexible so that the first and second spaces change in shape and a position of the first portion of seal 170 changes relative to a position of the second portion of seal 170 when flap 130 is pressed towards the panel 106. A vehicle with the assembly is also provided.
