Method of providing a fixation support at a subsea seafloor surface location comprises drilling a bore into the subsea seafloor surface at a desired location, locating an elongate hollow and rigid body 150 at least partially into the drilled bore and subsequently radially expanding at least a region of at least an inner layer (620, Fig 6) of the elongate body wall thereby urging a corresponding region of at least one drilled surface-engaging element (630, Fig 6), disposed at a radially outer surface of the inner layer against the drilled bore wall (615, Fig 6), thereby providing a friction fit between the drilled surface and the elongate body. Also disclosed is apparatus for securing a floating platform with a plurality of fixation supports and an anchor body member (300, Fig 3) and a method of providing a subsea anchor for securing a floating platform.
