A seat assembly 100 has a seat back 102 and a support frame 104 with a first side rail 106 and a second side rail. A first pin 126 is connected on one side of the seat, either on the backrest or on the rail, with a locking feature 127, such as lugs, which are received in an opening on the other of the backrest or rail, with a cooperating feature, such as a recess in the edge of the opening. A second pin is connected to an opposite side of the seat, which inserts into a second opening. The second pin and opening also having the locking features. The seat may be assembled by aligning the locking feature of the first pin with the opening, the pin inserted until a tip of the second pin clears the other side of the seat back (fig.3a), aligning and inserting the tip of the second pin with the other opening so the frame supports the backrest (fig.3c), and then rotating the backrest so the locking feature is no longer aligned with the recess to prevent the first pin being withdrawn (fig.4b).
