A method of manufacturing a spar structure for a wind turbine blade, a spar structure of a wind turbine blade, a wind turbine blade comprising a spar structure and apparatus for manufacturing a spar structure are disclosed. The spar structure 20 comprises a leading edge 10 section defining the profile of the leading edge of the blade and the profile of a portion of the blade on both sides of the leading edge and at least one further section 12 defining the profile portion of the blade surface adjacent to the leading edge section. This section may comprise two spar cap sections 22 joined by a shear web 24 and be attached to a rear section 14. The structure is manufactured with the leading edge supported by a first support system arranged to orientate the leading edge downwards and a second support system arranged to support a further section on the leading edge section while they are being bonded.
