A crossmember 20 for transverse mounting across a vehicle chassis 2 has a tubular frame, a first set 30 of connectors connected to the frame for connecting to opposing longitudinal portions of the chassis, and a second set of connectors 40 connected to the frame for connecting to a transverse portion of the chassis. Second set 40 of connectors allow pivotal rotation of the frame about a transverse axis passing through the second set of connectors, preferably through at least 45 or 70 degrees. Preferably, connectors 30, 40 comprise bearing surfaces allowing rotation through at least three axes. Connectors 30, 40 may include threaded portions allowing adjustment of the connector position relative to the frame. The frame may include two perpendicular members 24, 25 and also diagonal members 26, and may be suitable for carrying an engine. A corresponding chassis and vehicle are also provided.
