A charging system for charging a plurality of electric vehicles simultaneously comprises a plurality of charging points 2, a first plurality of power modules 5, a second plurality of power modules 6, and a controller 7. Each of the first plurality of power modules is connected to a respective charging point. Each of the second plurality of power modules is switchably connectable to any one of the charging points by the controller. The controller may control the switchable connections based on received information about power demand of an electric vehicle connected to one of the changing points. The controller may control the switchable connections based on information about power availability from a source of electrical power to the first and second plurality of power modules. The controller may control the switchable connections based on information about commercial arrangements made by a user of an electric vehicle connected to one of the power points.
