An aircraft wing trailing edge system 12 comprises a pivotable spoiler or droop panel 8 and a moveable flap 6 with an independently pivotable trailing edge device 14. The flap 6 is rotatable independently of the movement of the spoiler 8. In use, the trailing edge system 12 may adopt several different configurations or modes of operation facilitating all of camber and/or wing chord and/or slot gap change during cruise, high speed and low speed roll control mode, enhanced high lift, and load alleviation. As such, the wing may not need any separate ailerons or other trailing edge control surfaces. The pivotable trailing edge device 14 may pivot by at least +/- 20 degrees from a neutral position. The trailing edge device 14 and flap 6 may also pivot together about a hinge or translate together along a track. The trailing edge system may be mounted on a wing (4, Figure 4), wherein each moveable flap 6 has a spanwise length extending along the majority of the length of the wing trailing edge.
