A mounting socket 9 for a kerbside electric vehicle charger comprises a channel 10 having a base segment 13, and first and second vertical segments 14,17 each having a respective distal end 15,18 and proximate end 16,19. The base segment is joined to the vertical segments at their distal ends such that the channel has an opening 20 between the proximate ends. First and second flanges 11,12 are each respectively mounted at and perpendicular to the proximate ends and are directed away from the opening. The channel receives cabling for an electric vehicle charger 5 (figures 1). The first flange includes fixing means 24 adapted to fix the socket to a kerbstone 4a…4n. Both flanges are provided with mounting means 22 for fixing the electric vehicle charger to the socket (see figure 3). A cable conduit 7 may be received in the channel. To install the socket, a channel may be excavated in a footway, footpath or sidewalk 2 proximate a kerbstone, after which the socket may be inserted into the channel and bolted to the kerbstone via the fixing means.
