Disclosed is a flex wing or hang glider where the pilot can open and close the flex wing from the cockpit seat in the trike or undercarriage by using an extension of the diagonal wing strut as a lever arm. The extension may be telescopic. The pilot 5 may pull handle 4 to begin to open the wing by pivoting wing strut 1 at point 2. Pushing the extensions together closes the wing and pulling extensions apart opens it. The action is similar to using an oar on a boat where the diagonal wing strut 1 is the oar and the control frame pivot point 2 becomes the fulcrum. The extension may be used as an anchor point to fix a locking rope or cable to restrain the wing from fully closing, allowing the propeller to operate on the ground. The arrangement may reduce storage costs and allow operation on narrow roads or waterways.
