A bracket is provided for mounting a gas cylinder to an underside of a vehicle body. The bracket includes a gas cylinder support for engaging the gas cylinder, having inboard and outboard sides on respective sides of the cylinder. An inboard support arm, on the inboard side of the gas cylinder support, supports the assembly and has first proximal and distal ends. The first proximal end is connected to a lower portion of the gas cylinder support assembly, and the inboard support arm extends upwardly from the first proximal end for connection to the underside of the vehicle body. The bracket may optionally also have an outboard support arm. Preferably the bracket is of unitary construction. Also provided are a bracket system with a plurality of the brackets, a mounting assembly with one or more of the brackets in combination with one or more guide members and a vehicle.
