Controlling deployment of aircraft escape and ejection seat subsystems 100 comprises causing a sequencer 120 to perform operations comprising receiving a power input, determining a seat location, seat identity and ejection mode of an ejection seat in which the sequencer is installed. Sending a first deploy command to an escape path clearance subsystem 124, determining a deployment sequence for a seat rocket catapult subsystem 126 and a plurality of ejection seat subsystems 130, 132, 134 of the ejection seat based on the determined parameters. Sending a second deploy command to the seat rocket catapult subsystem 126 and sending a series of third deploy commands to the plurality of ejection seat subsystems. The escape path subsystem may be associated with clearing a canopy 116 over the ejection seat. The ejection seat subsystems may be associated with controlling the ejections seat during expulsion from the cockpit, separating the occupant from the ejection seat and/or deploying a parachute.
