Disclosed is a temperature sensing device for sensing aircraft wheel brake temperature, the temperature sensing device comprising: a surface acoustic wave, SAW, sensor element comprising an interdigital transducer, the interdigital transducer comprising electrodes disposed along the surface of a substrate forming a periodic structure, the electrodes having a thickness, in a direction perpendicular to the surface, of between 120 and 190 nanometres. The electrode thickness may be substantially 180 nanometres. The SAW sensor element may have a resonant frequency of 188 MHz at a temperature of 24 Deg C. The SAW sensor element may comprise an input interdigital transducer and an output interdigital transducer, and the electrode thickness of both may be substantially the same. Also disclosed is a brake disc comprising the temperature sensing device, an aircraft comprising the brake disc, and a method of manufacturing a temperature sensing device.
