At least one processor receives status information representing availability of a parking location and uses it to predict a future status of the parking location, determines a destination based on the predicted future status and provides the predicted future status to a vehicle controller for controlling the vehicle to drive to the destination. The status information may be acquired from a camera or LiDAR system and may include a temperature, precipitation, wind chill, humidity or event at the location. The prediction may be based on a status history of previously received status information, e.g. that of an adjacent parking location. Determining the destination may include displaying the predicted future status 1018A-C of multiple parking locations 1012, 1016, 1006 on a user interface, receiving a destination location preference via the user interface 550 and changing the vehicle’s destination accordingly. A first vehicle may acquire the status information using an onboard sensor and provide the predicted future occupancy to a second autonomous vehicle.
