A duct for an aircraft or watercraft for influencing fluid flow. The duct comprises a duct section 110, which receives fluid flow, defining a first direction 116 through the duct section from a fluid inlet end 112 to a fluid outlet end 114. The duct section further houses a rotor 120 and vortex generator surface. The vortex generator surface is arranged to induce vortices in the fluid flow through the duct section. The vortex generator may be arranged on one or more rotor blades 124 of the rotor, preferably at the trailing edge of the blade. The vortex generator may be provided on a stator (410, figure 7). The vortex generator may comprise a series of projections 252. The duct section may be a first duct section and the vortex generator surface may be first vortex generator surface wherein the duct further comprises a second duct section 210 having a second vortex generator surface.
