When there is oversupply on the power-grid, storing the power for later charging of electric vehicles (BEVs) using imbalance trading systems aFRR or mFRR. A battery system for storing energy may utilise LiPO4 or Lithium-titanate (LTO) batteries. This saves otherwise wasted energy and reduces cost for charging electric vehicles.
