An electro-mechanic braking system including an electric motor 50; a caliper 80 with brake plates 110 and a disc (90; figs. 5 and 7); and a scissor jack 120. The scissor jack includes a fixation support (190; fig. 6) for the caliper and a support (180; figs. 5 and 6) for the brake plates 110. The brake plates are pressed on the disc by the scissor jack, which is driven by the motor. The scissor jack may include: a screw drive 130, driven by the motor 50; a fixed ball screw (140; figs. 5-7); a mobile ball screw (140’; figs. 5-7), which runs along the screw drive; and levers (e.g. 161, 161’, 162, 162’; fig. 6) jointed by cylindrical joints (e.g. 151, 152; fig. 6). There may be multiple scissor jacks connected in series (e.g. see fig. 7).
