An arrangement 110 for influencing fluid flow comprising a first section 1100 selectively configurable to provide a vortex generator surface 3100. The vortex generator surface comprises a series of laterally aligned projections 3102 (e.g. serrations and/or undulations) inducing vortices in the liquid flow. The first section may expand from and/or retract into a second section 2100. The second section may comprise a flow control surface, e.g. a rudder, duct and/or rotor. A controller 112 may implement selective configuration of the vortex generator surface in dependence on a user command, input from a sensor arrangement 114 and/or environmental condition(s). The laterally aligned projections may form a continuous wave-like profile. An actuator assembly 1104 may adjust a resilient membrane 1102 profile to provide the vortex generator surface. The first section may be formed from a shape memory alloy. An aircraft or watercraft may comprise the arrangement. A method of influencing fluid flow is disclosed.
