An air turbine electricity generator for use with electrical vehicles where the generator charges the vehicles battery system. The turbine is powered by air that passes through the structure of the vehicle via a ducting system. The air causes the impeller 1,2 of the turbine that are placed transversely across the width of the vehicle to turn. The shaft of the impeller is connected at each end to electrical generators (A, fig 6) via toothed belts B. Preferably the vehicle has a turbine in front of the bulkhead, and a turbine at the rear of the vehicle, and air flows in ducting between the internal floor of the vehicle and the underside of the vehicle. The ducting may be split (fig 5) to allow sufficient air to drive the turbine at the rear of the vehicle. The air inlet (F, fig 6) and outlet (G, fig 6) may be closed off by the means of flaps (fig 7) when the turbine is not intended to be used.
