A method of copying data from a first device to a second device, each device comprising a wireless communication interfaces having a maximum range, the devices being separated by a distance greater than the maximum range. The method comprises transmitting, by the first device, the data to a third device positioned within the maximum range of the first device 906, receiving the data at the third device and storing the data in a memory of the third device 908, moving the third device to a physical location within the maximum range of the second device 910, and transmitting, by the third device, the data to the second device 912. Further independent claims also disclose the first and second devices being tyre monitoring devices, the third device being an intermediary device, the data being cryptographic keys, the maximum range being 30cm, the data (or cryptographic keys) being erased from the third or intermediary device, and a display. The data could also comprise configuration information, which could be received from a fourth device.
