A vehicle connection socket comprises a threaded bore 16a formed in a crush can 14b and a bumper armature 14a fixed relative to the crush can, the threaded bore being configured to receive a threaded portion of a releasable connector 10 with the armature supporting the connector. The connector may have a shaft 110 and a splined shaft portion (133, figure 3C). A handle 130 may have a first splined surface and is axially moveable relative to the shaft between first and second positions. In the second position the first splined surface is engaged with the splined shaft so rotation of the handle causes rotation of the shaft. The connector may have biasing means to bias the handle towards the first position. A cover 160 is selectively moveable to a first configuration in which the cover engages the handle to maintain the handle in the second position and inhibit rotation of the handle. This may be achieved by engagement between a second splined handle surface and a splined cover surface. In the first configuration the cover may prevent manual access to the handle. Also disclosed is a bicycle rack with the above-mentioned connector.
