The present disclosure relates to a motorised mobility device 10 comprising: a wheeled base 11; a saddle seat 16; and an adjustable support 15 extending between the wheeled base and the saddle seat. The support is able to raise the seat from a sitting to a standing position. Optionally the support extends substantially vertically from the base and is extendable between a retracted sitting position and an extended standing position. The support can be a hydraulic or pneumatic piston comprising a multi-stage telescopic cylinder. The wheeled base can have two independently driven wheels and may contain sensors including accelerometers, gyroscopes or yaw and tilt sensors. The saddle seat may be fixed in two dimensions relative to the base and may comprise a central portion. The mobility device can be separated into two or more parts. A method for using the motorised mobility device is also disclosed.
