A housing 4 for a tyre parameter monitoring system, e.g. a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), comprising: two arms 10, 12 that are shaped and spaced to provide fitting 18 for engaging a valve stem (34, fig. 3) of a clamp-in type valve (30, fig. 3) such that it is pivotably engaged with the housing with a variable the angle between the stem and the housing. The housing 4 also comprises a fitting 16 between the arms for engaging a valve stem (8, fig. 2) of a snap-in type valve (6, fig. 2). The arms may each include an arcuate slot 28 or a web portion 20 between the arms may include two arcuate slots 28 to engage arcuate protrusions on a bar (32, fig. 3) of the clamp-in valve stem. The fitting 16 for the snap-in valve may protrude from the upper surface of the housing, be spaced from the arms and include an aperture 26 to engage the valve stem with a screw (24, fig. 2). Also claimed are systems including the housing and either a snap-in or clamp-in type valve stem, and methods for mounting these to a wheel rim.
